Cadillac Man Perishes in Snowmobile Accident

Posted: Updated:

A Cadillac man died in one of two fatal snowmobile accidents Friday on the same trail in Wexford county.

The sheriff's office says Jeffrey Ellens was traveling east on trail 35 in Cherry Grove Township near 37 Road, when he missed a curve on the trail, and struck several trees.

Ellens was taken to Mercy Hospital in Cadillac where he was pronounced dead.

Deputies say excessive speed is believed to be a factor in that crash.
