Feedback at 5:00: Cupcake Controversy

Posted: Updated:

They're part of American culture for so many children; tiny, plastic, green men who battle it out on living room floors, and are easily stepped on by adults.

A Michigan third grader who took cupcakes to his Caro class in celebration of his 9th birthday was told topping them with toy army men was not okay.

The boy's mother whipped up 30 cupcakes, frosted them, and put the little action figures on top.

Then the principal called his parents and told him dressing the cupcakes with soldiers is inappropriate because of recent gun related tragedies.

The school says since some parents do not allow their children to play with guns at all, the school decided to remove the toy soldiers and give them back to the student.

What do you think of the incident?

It's tonight's "Feedback at 5:00."
