UPDATE: Scottville Mayor Arrested Again for Violating Terms of His Sentence

Posted: Updated:

A Mason County mayor arrested for driving drunk has resigned after violating terms of his sentence.

Scottville Mayor Joe Baxter pleaded no contest to impaired driving last week for the October incident.

That means he didn't admit guilt, but would serve the punishment for the crime.

The judge sentenced him to pay fines, stay sober, and take an alcohol and driving course.

Baxter was arrested again today for violating terms of his sentence.

Mayor pro tem Dick Maki is now acting as mayor.
