Big Rapids Man Charged for Peeping on Tanning Salon Clients

Posted: Updated:

The man police say took inappropriate pictures at a Big Rapids tanning salon has officially been charged.

Matthew Marshall faces two counts of taking the inappropriate photos over a wall at the tanning salon in early March.

Police say Marshall turned himself in soon after the incident.

The investigation began after a woman at the tanning salon noticed a cell phone peeking over the tanning room wall as she undressed.

Police say they are still determining how many times Marshall may have done this.

Police say the man has admitted to snapping photos of two women Saturday, and there's evidence of many more.

They have not yet made an arrest, as they look for more possible victims.

Police say they caught the man taking the tanning photos on Saturday after a woman at B-Tan in Big Rapids in Mecosta County spotted him.

We're told the woman saw a camera peeking over the top of the wall and alerted employees who called police.

Now at least two women are pressing charges, and police are confident more will be coming soon.

9&10's Eric Lloyd and photojournalist Jacob Johnson spoke with the salon's owner and have more details.
