Mecosta Co. Man jailed for assaulting parents and Deputies

Posted: Updated:

A 23 year old Mecosta County man is in custody after deputies say he assaulted his parents with a metal pipe, and attacked officers responding to the call.

Deputies say they met the victims at a gas station, and then went to the Austin Township home.

When they made contact with the suspect, they say he had a knife in his hand.

They used a taser, but say it did not disable the suspect totally, but they were able to disarm him and take him into custody.

He's now in the Mecosta County jail, facing several charges including assault against his parents, and the officers, as well as resisting arrest.

He'll be identified after he's formally charged.
