Gaylord Records 2nd Snowiest February on Record - Northern Michigan's News Leader

Gaylord Records 2nd Snowiest February on Record

Posted: Updated:

Northern Michigan is an absolute winter wonderland this year with many communities seeing more snow than they have had in many years.

One of those communities is Gaylord.

The area had their second snowiest February since 1940, when they started to keep track of those numbers.

The near record snowfall in Otsego County is exactly what cross county skiers and others needed to enjoy winter activities.

Cross country ski centers like Forbush Corners can't make their own snow like downhill resorts.

David Forbush must rely on what he is given and this year that has been plenty.

At Cook Family Farms, their belgian draft horses can pull their sleigh on wheels but everybody prefers that true sleigh ride feel.

9&10's Eric Lloyd and photojournalist Tony Zyber trekked through the snow today and have more details.
