Gaylord K-Mart to Close in May

Posted: Updated:

A chain retail store closing its doors, and now 48 people will have to look for work elsewhere.

The days are numbered for a local K-Mart.

The K-Mart in Gaylord will shut down in May as part of a series of actions the company's taking to transform their retail business.

A spokesperson for the company says those 48 people will have a chance to apply for positions at other K-Mart and Sears stores.

It is unclear what will be going into the store after K-Mart closes.

9 & 10's Meredith Barack and photojournalist Jeff Blakeman have more on how it will affect the community.
