Father & Daughter Die in Collision with Plow Truck

Posted: Updated:

A father and daughter are dead following a collision between a snow plow and an S.U.V. Sunday morning in Grand Traverse County.

State Police say it happened shortly before nine a.m. at the intersection of Summit City Road and Sparling road near Kingsley.

Troopers say their initial investigation indicates that the Grand Traverse County Road Commission plow truck was northbound on Summit City Road, when the westbound vehicle failed to stop at the intersection, and was struck by the plow.

52 year old David Pipoly and his 13 year old daughter Christa, from Kingsley, died in the accident.

Another passenger and the plow truck driver were also injured and taken to Munson Medical Center for treatment.

Visitation for David and Christa will be held this Wednesday at the Kingsley High School gym from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

A celebration of life is scheduled for Thursday at 2:00 p.m. for David and Christa, also at the Kingsley High School gym.

The accident remains under investigation.
