Posted: Updated:

Several police agencies are working around the clock to find a vulnerable adult.

Juan Romero III has been missing since yesterday afternoon from his assisted living home in Shepherd.

Today, a search and rescue base was created at the Shepherd Fire Hall.

Officers are looking along Wise Road from the Village of Shepherd, north to almost Pickard Road in Mount Pleasant.

Police say he suffers from several mental disorders and is not capable of taking care of himself.

Juan is a Native American male, 5 foot 11 inches tall, 280 pounds, long black hair (usually in a ponytail). He has a tattoo of "Big Brother" on the left side of his neck and another one with "Juan" and the number "3" below it on his right forearm. He was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt, dark gray zip up hoodie, black sweat pants and white and black shoes.

9&10's Katie Boomgaard talked to someone who ran into him last night.

If you have any information regarding Juan's whereabouts, please call the Isabella County Central Dispatch at 989-773-1000.
