Northwestern Michigan College is stepping up security in their classrooms.
A $20,000 investment will make it easier for teachers to lock classrooms from the inside without a key.
This month, the school also plans to install a system that can send a voice message to more than 800 phones on four campuses in less than 5 minutes.
This feature alone will cost $16,000 over 5 years.
Schools across the country are taking similar measures to better their school security, after the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in December.
