Police Searching for Missing Big Rapids Man

Posted: Updated:

Fred Byrne was last seen leaving his mother's apartment in Holland Tuesday afternoon.

He dropped his son off at Hope College beforehand, and visited with his mother that afternoon in Holland Township.

He had told his wife he would be home for dinner in Big Rapids Tuesday night but he didn't shown up.

Byrne worked out of his home as an attorney and we are told his family is well known throughout the community.

His wife told us he left a note saying he should be home around 6 PM Tuesday for dinner.

When he didn't show, she called police the next day.

He does not carry a cell phone or have any credit cards or debit cards on him at the time to trace.

9&10's Eric Lloyd and photojournalist Jacob Johnson spoke with police on the disappearance and has more details.
