A 2-year-old is out of harms way after police say his father's girlfriend abused him.
Wexford County Sheriff's Department arrested Ashley Pittman from Cadillac for child abuse February 7th.
Pittman is accused of holding the boy up-side down, physically harming him, giving him bruises and forcing food down his throat and depriving him of sleep.
Pittman could face up to 2 years in prison if convicted.
Her pre-trial is set for tomorrow in the Wexford County District Court.
The child is with family members.
