Plow Trucks Uncover Northern Michigan Roads

Posted: Updated:

Plow trucks continue to clear northern Michigan roads after a major storm moved through the area.

Some people found themselves under a foot of fresh snow this morning and it could be a while before all of it is cleared.

One area hit hard was Mecosta County where the road commission is asking for drivers to be patient.

The county has more than 1,200 miles of roads. Crews worked throughout last night and today to get traffic moving. Twenty six drivers were on the roads throughout the county. While primary roads are always the top priority, workers are still trying to make sure people can get out of their driveways this weekend.

Plow drivers say you can make the process easier by giving them space and moving cars and trash cans away from the road.

Kyle Mitchell and Photojournalist Tony Zyber have more on clearing northern Michigan roads.
