Two northern Michigan Sheriff's Departments are going high-tech with blogs, apps for your smart phone, and new websites. It's an effort to keep their communities safer and more aware.

9&10's Sara Simnitch, and Photojournalist, Jeremy Erickson talked to both departments about how beneficial social media can be.
