The U.S. Postal Service is proposing some changes that could save them billions, but could also mean some lost jobs. Starting in August, they plan to end first class mail delivery on Saturdays. The struggling Postal Service says the cuts could save about $2 billion a year. The Postmaster General has asked Congress to allow the change several time, but today he announce the Postal Service will cut Saturday delivery, making the decision Congress won't.
Packages, mail order medicines, and priority and express mail would still be going out to homes and businesses. He says the financial condition of the Postal Service is urgent as it loses billions of dollars each year.
