Mitsubishi is recalling about 1,400 of their electric cars for brake problems.
The automaker is recalling the i-MiEV 2012 models made between December 2nd, 2011 through September 7th, 2012 because their brake pumps can fail.
When a defective vacuum pump stops working, that can reduce braking power, increase stopping distances, and raise the rise of a crash.
So far no crashes or injuries have been reported.
Mitsubishi says they will notify owners and replace the brake pumps for free.
