U.S. Flags will fly at half-staff this week to honor a Michigan soldier, who died after an explosion in Afghanistan.
Governor Snyder is ordering flags lowered to honor Sergeant Mark Schoonhoven from Plainwell, this Thursday.
Schoonhoven died January 20th at Brook Army Medical Center, in Texas.
He was serving his fifth tour of duty.
His funeral is this Wednesday in Otsego.
Schoonhoven was married and has six children.
