UPDATE: Lake County Couple Murdered in Missouri

Posted: Updated:

UPDATE: Prosecutors say they want to try the two teenage boys, charged with murdering a Lake County couple in Missouri, as adults.

The bodies of Paul and Margaret Brooks were found Thursday night, in Galena, Missouri.

They were staying at a relatives home, but were alone when they were killed.

For the last 7 years, the couple spent their Summers in Baldwin, in Lake County.

Police say the two boys ran away from a nearby detention center.

A neighbor says he spotted the teens breaking in to a house, near where the Brooks were staying.

He held them at gunpoint until deputies arrived.

The deputies then found the bodies of the Brooks, while checking the homes in the neighborhood.
