CMU students were notified last night around 11:45 that an armed robbery had occurred near the corner of May and Main Streets.
The text and email alert read:
"Central Michigan University Police issued a Central Alert at approximately 11:45 tonight [Saturday] regarding an 11 p.m. armed robbery that occurred at Main and May streets, about 1.5 blocks north of campus. This case is being handled by the Mount Pleasant City Police; CMU Police are assisting. Suspects were three black males, one wearing a gray jacket, blue jeans and brown boots. They left the scene in a black Chevrolet extended cab pickup with a cap. Anyone with any information is asked to call central dispatch at 773-1000 or CMU Police at 774-3081. Police are advising area residents to use caution; do not approach anyone fitting the description of the subjects. Information in this case will come from city police."
Mount Pleasant City Police told 9&10 News they didn't want to comment today about the incident.
