Weather Update: 3:00 p.m.

Snow has taken over the area, with very little rain remaining. The line of snow is still mainly hanging from Presque Isle down to Mason counties—with areas of freezing drizzle scattered around.  Temperatures are currently ranging from 27-37 degrees. Road conditions are getting worse, as we are seeing more and more of the rain freeze, and more snow falling.

* A Winter Storm Watch is in effect for Luce county through 7am tomorrow. 6-9" of snow is expected through tomorrow morning.

* Chippewa, Mackinac, Emmet, Cheboygan, Charlevoix, Antrim, Otsego, Leelanau, Benzie, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, Manistee, and Wexford counties are under a Winter Weather Advisory through midnight tonight. This area can expect a mix of freezing rain/ sleet/ and snow through midnight, with 3-6" of snow accumulation.

** The above counties will shift over to a Lake Effect Snow Watch through Friday afternoon as lake effect snow will be piling up through Friday

*Lake effect snow advisories are in effect for Mason, Lake, Oceana, Newaygo from 7pm tonight to 1pm tomorrow. The potential for 3-6"+ exists through the advisory times.

As this system tapers off overnight, lake effect will take over tomorrow, bringing additional snow accumulations.
