Volunteers Keep Close Eye on Snowmobile Trails for This Weekend's Festival

Posted: Updated:

The warm weather and rain fall is making snowmobile trails extremely slushy.

Volunteers are keeping a close eye on the weather as the 29th annual North American Snow Festival nears.

At this point in time, the volunteers would like people to stay off the snowmobile trails on Lake Cadillac for another day until the weather turns cold again.

Because of the unpredictable weather, they've added more indoor activities and moved to a bigger venue...the Wex.

This year's festival will include a chili cook-off, a new snow sculpting contest, snowmobile races and an ice fishing tournament along with a beer and wine tent.

The festival kicks off Thursday night.

9&10's Katie Boomgaard found out what they're expecting for a festival that relies on snow.
