U.S. 10 Construction To Improve Road Safety, May Inconvenience Drivers

Posted: Updated:

A new project on U.S. 10 will improve the road, but may cause a headache for drivers.

A two-mile stretch in Clare will be improved.

While MDOT says it's for the safety of the road, many drivers are worried about the drawbacks it may cause.

During construction, the road will be reduced down to one lane, potentially inconveniencing drivers.

The $1.8 million project on the city's East Side doesn't begin until 2014.

The project will include repaving the road and adding a longer center turn lane.

9 & 10's Meredith Barack and photojournalist Jake Johnson have more on what the project will mean for drivers.
