Mackinaw City is coming together to remember the life and legacy of one of its most well known residents.

J.C. Stilwell died over the weekend from complications with Pneumonia.

He was the founder of Mama Mias Pizza and the Mackinaw Bridge Museum in Mackinaw City.

A lifelong resident of the area, J.C. had a big list of accomplishments.  His advocating for an iron workers monument played a crucial role in having one built.

He founded the International Ironworkers Festival and helped oversee it for decades.

J.C.'s funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. at Saint Anthony's Church. He was 84-years-old.

9 and 10's Kyle Mitchell and Photojournalist Jeff Blevins have more on the life and legacy of J.C. Stilwell.
