An Onaway man was reported missing this past Thursday around 8:30 a.m.
A family member of Matthew Tennant reported him missing when Tennant didn't return home after leaving Wednesday night around 5:30.
Police located Tennant's car on a two-track off of Red Bridge Road in Cheboygan County Thursday afternoon.
Investigators followed boot prints approximately 5 miles through the woods until they came across Tennant around 5:30 p.m.
With temperatures hovering around 0 degrees, Tennant was in extreme hypothermic condition fading in and out of consciousness.
The man was transported to McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey.
The Cheboygan County Sheriff believes Tennant somehow got disoriented and couldn't find his way back to his vehicle.
The Sheriff credits Deputies Ron Fenlon, Jeff Bur, Joshua Ginop, and inverness Fire Chief Dan Socha for saving the man's life.
