UPDATE: More Animals Seized from Montmorency County Home

An investigation into animal neglect is underway in Montmorency County that now includes around 40 dogs, and 6 horses.

While there haven't been any arrests, the animals do have temporary new homes.

Besides seizing 23 dogs, investigators also took 6 horses from a house in Hillman last night.

They went back for around 15 more dogs, today.

Now the horses are at a farm, and the dogs are at the Elk Country Animal Shelter.

9&10 news is following a developing story out of Montmorency County involving a possible case of animal neglect.

The director of the Elk Country Animal Shelter says investigators seized 23 dogs and 6 miniature horses from a home near Hillman.

Those dogs are now at the shelter and she says the horses are at a farm.

The director tells 9&10 News investigators are expected to check on 19 other dogs still at the house.
