Clare County Unveils Plans for Veterans Freedom Park

Posted: Updated:

With a final design in place, the committee in charge of the project now aims to raise the $400,000 for the park.

They made the new design public at a ceremony today at the Clare County Courthouse in Harrison.

The park will be right across the street.

The committee hopes the park will be less a somber memorial than a place to learn, remember and honor those who served our country.

The state-of-the-art park will offer electronic kiosks full of Clare County military history and a Wall of Tears engraved with all those lost in combat from the county.

9&10's Eric Lloyd and photojournalist Jacob Johnson were there for the unveiling and have more details.
