US-31 Re-Opens in Oceana County

Posted: Updated:

UPDATE: On Monday, January 21, 2013, Michigan State Police Troopers from the Hart Post investigated a one vehicle accident on Northbound US-31 just North of M-20, in Shelby Township.

The investigation determined that the semi-truck driver was traveling North and lost control of his oil tanker.

As a result, the semi-truck left the roadway and overturned.

Since the tanker was hauling approximately 6,500 gallons of oil, recovery of the semi was not possible on the date of the crash.

So today, Young Environmental unloaded the overturned tanker; Baxter's Towing of Muskegon recovered the semi, afterwards.
