Deadly Accident in Mecosta County

A Mecosta County driver is dead tonight, after veering off the road and hitting a tree.

Around 5:45 PM, deputies from the Mecosta County Sheriff's Department were dispatched to a one-vehicle accident on 85th Avenue, just North of 4 Mile Road, in Hilton Township.

They found the driver, 54-year-old Alan Duane Ketchum, pinned in the vehicle but conscious.

Ketchum later died as a result of his injuries.

Deputies were assisted by Mecosta County EMS, Morton Fire/Rescue, and Lakeview Fire/Rescue Units.
