Wexford County Sheriff's Department Working to Keep Drivers Safe

Rain, snow and even thunder made for a slippery mix last night and into today, in many parts of Northern Michigan.

The freezing rain and sleet created a slick base, and the blowing snow topped off the mix, several roads were covered with layers of ice.

Many didn't realize how bad the roads were until they ventured out, 9&10 News rode along with a Wexford County Sergeant today who is working to keep drivers safe.

Sergeant Piskor would like to remind all drivers to give yourself a little extra time if you have to drive in the weather.

Make sure to slow down and report any accidents or rollovers you are involved in or witness.
