The Governor laid out his vision for the state on a number of issues going into the third year of his term. He also took a look back at what he says was a successful year in 2012. He is looking to continue to build on strengthening agriculture, auto, and tourism industries.
His top priority for 2013 is investing a billion dollars a year on repairing Michigan roads and bridges, and finding a new way to pay for it.
Area road commissions are anxious to see what the Governor has in-store for northern Michigan roadways. Roads and bridges are deteriorating to the tune of $3 million every day in repair costs; the current gas tax is not keeping up. That's why the Governor's plan has road commissions taking notice.
