Accident on the Ice Leaves Cheboygan High School Hockey Player With Memory Loss

Posted: Updated:

He holds the record for most wins as a goalie for the Cheboygan Varsity Hockey team, except now, Nick Watson can't even remember he once played.

Nick's life changed after an accident on the ice earlier this season left him with memory loss.

Now, there's a team effort underway in Cheboygan, and beyond, to support him, and to help pay for medical-related expenses.

The President of the Blueliners tells 9&10 News though Nick is covered under the Cheboygan Area Schools policy for all medical expenses related to the injury, it does not cover things like travel and hotel stays.

9&10's Christina Vecchioni and photojournalist Eric Davis have more details on the injury that changed his life.

We've also attached a file with details on an upcoming fundraiser in Cheboygan.

In addition, the Petoskey Northmen will be donating all game proceeds from their January 23 game against Cheboygan to Nick's family.
