State Police Investigate Collision Between Car and School Bus

Posted: Updated:

State Police in West Branch are investigating the collision of a school bus with a passenger car in Iosco county.

Troopers say the accident happened Friday morning at 6:30 a.m. on Plank Road, north of Essex Road in Tawas Township.

Only the bus driver was in the bus at the time.

She was not injured.

Police say she lost control on the icy road surface, crossed the center line and struck the Pontiac Grand Prix nearly head on. The bus then left the road and overturned.

The two passengers in the Grand Prix were taken to a Tawas City hospital for treatment and one, a woman from National City, was transferred to Saginaw for additional treatment.

The accident remains under investigation.
