Warm Weather Postpones Indian River Sled Dog Race

Posted: Updated:

The warm, wet weather isn't going to leave much snow anywhere this weekend.

Because of that, the Indian River Rondy sled dog race in Cheboygan County has been postponed.

The race has been scheduled each of the last 3 years.

The first went off smoothly, but last year's race was rescheduled, and canceled completely due to lack of snow.

Even if the snow stuck around, the warm weekend does not make for very good racing conditions.

The race is rescheduled for February 23rd and 24th.

They bring teams from as far as Wisconsin, and hundreds of spectators to Indian River.

9&10's Eric Lloyd and photojournalist Tony Zyber checked on the conditions today and have more details.
