Right now crews are on the scene of a fire that sparked inside a Beaver Island home.

Details are limited, but we do know the fire started around 4:30 this morning at a home on Main Street.

We're told the upstairs of the home was filled with smoke when crews arrived, and the house is a total loss mostly because of water.

The family has no insurance and are in need of men's size large clothing, baby boy clothing size 6-9 months, and large to extra large women's clothing.

If you would like to help the family recover some of their loss, you can drop off donations to Island Airways  at the Charlevoix airport and they will delivered for free.

Or you can send the Maudrie family your donations at:

Kathleen Maudrie, P.O. Box 306, Beaver Island, MI 49782.
