Missaukee County Man Facing Prison Time for Hitting Man With Car and Fleeing

Posted: Updated:

A Missaukee County man will spend nearly 3 years in prison for hitting another man with his car, then driving away.

Roger Verhegge pleaded no contest to running into a man at the intersection of Lachance and Jennings Road in Lake Township in October.

Verhegge was sentenced yesterday for the hit and run that sent the victim to the hospital with serious injuries.

Police say Verhegge was also driving on a suspended license at the time.
