Man Claims Kidnappers Took Him and Wanted $80 in Ransom

Police arrested a man and his sister after reporting a false abduction.

Brandon Wright called his girlfriend and said that he was being taken and the kidnappers wanted $80 for ransom.

Wright's sister Denisha confirmed his story claming she followed them, but eventually lost them.

Brandon's girlfriend went to the Michigan State Police to report the incident.

Troopers found Brandon between Cadillac and Lake City, where he admitted he made the story up.

The incident occurred on the night of December 1st, and Brandon and Denisha Wright were arrested this past week.

The Michigan State Police want the public to know they take all reports seriously and to use their resources responsibly.
