A Ferris State University pharmacy professor has been killed in an overseas bus crash.

The Big Rapids school says in a statement it's "deeply saddened" by the death of Lucy Ngoh, who died after being hurt in a December 30th bus accident in the West African nation of Cameroon.

The Grand Rapids Press reports Ngoh was visiting relatives at the time of the accident.

She joined Ferris' College of Pharmacy in 1992, was a pharmacist and a certified health education specialist.

A memorial service is pending.
