Posted: Updated:

Flu season is certainly in full swing and one local hospital is now taking extra precautions.

The West Branch Regional Medical Center in Ogemaw County, has implemented a number of changes to ensure that not only patients, but also staff members remain healthy.

The hospital has increased the amount of cleaning they do to surface areas.

They are also making sure their staff is protected by encouraging them to get the flu shot and requesting that those who don't have it wear a mask, when within six feet of a patient.

Patients with flu symptoms will be isolated and visitors are asked not to visit, if they are experiencing any symptoms of the Flu.

Children who are 12 and under are also temporarily restricted from visiting the hospital, unless they are in need of medical care.
