Clay Cliffs Reach Goal of Preservation Project

Posted: Updated:

After three years of fundraising for Clay Cliffs Natural Area, the goal has finally been met.

It's a New Year's gift to the Leelanau County Area, as well as the Leelanau Conservancy and other groups, who helped make it possible.

Between some grants the project has received and help from the local community, the Conservancy will now be able to begin preserving a beautiful landmark that means a lot to their area.

Brian Price of the Leelanau Conservancy says meeting this project's goal would not have been possible, without the help of the people of the County.

Nearly 600 families and individuals helped with the fundraising efforts.

While there's no official date set on when this project will be completed, the Conservancy is hoping to see it finished by next fall.
