New Auto Sales Numbers Show Growth

Posted: Updated:

New numbers show growth in automotive sales.

Chrysler says 2012, U.S. sales were the best since 2007.

The automaker ended the year up 21 percent, with sales led by Ram and Jeep.

Ford sales were up 5 percent overall for the year, selling more cars and SUV's like the Explorer.

General Motors sales were also up, just not as much as its competitors.

The company finished the year up 3.7 percent as strong sales of small cars made up for weak truck sales.

Some local car dealers are feeling the positive effects of the spike in sales.

Don's Auto Clinic in Cadillac saw sales rise more than 9 percent in 2012.

The dealership says the Chrysler 200, Jeep Grand Cherokee, and Dodge Ram trucks were all popular local sellers.
