Subaru is recalling nearly 634,000 vehicles in the U.S. for issues with the lights beneath the doors.
The recall affects all Outback and Legacy cars from model years 2010 and 2011, as well as Tribeca SUV's from 2006 to 2012 and Forester SUV's from 2009 to 2012.
Subaru says the Tribecas and Foresters were sold before January 2012.
Moisture can get into the puddle lights beneath the doors and cause a short circuit that can melt plastic and cause fires.
Subaru will install an additional fuse at no extra cost. The recall is expected to begin in February.
