Gym Damaged After Fire in Reed City High School

Posted: Updated:

Last night the Reed City High School was on fire.

Crews say the fire started around 6:00 pm in a janitors closet near the gym at Reed City High School in Osceola County.

We're told it was quickly put out, but there is major smoke damage in the gym and locker rooms at the school.

Crews don't know the cause of the fire, but the superintendent says activities scheduled over the next few days are canceled.

The effect the fire will have on students returning to school after break is still unknown.

The superintendent says he hopes to have a restoration crew in the building over the next few days to assess the damage.
