White Pine Trail Supporters Blame Snowmobiles for Damage

Posted: Updated:

The Friends of the White Pine Trail say snowmobilers riding on studded treads are tearing up their favorite trail.

Those snowmobilers are using the trail well before the recommended four inch base is in place .

The northern-most stretch of the White Pine Trail was just paved two years ago.

The trail is 93 miles long from Cadillac to Grand Rapids.

Year round the trail is utilized by all sorts of activities but other trail users say the studded snowmobiles are ruining the experience for the runners, bladers and bikers.

9&10's Eric Lloyd looked into the problem and has more details.
