UPDATE: Police have found a missing 81-year-old man with Alzheimer's in Newago County, alive.

Mervin Newville from Bitely has been missing since December 24th.

Police believe he drove to the Big Rapids area on December 24th and failed to return home.

He left his home around 9:00 in the morning Christmas Eve for groceries.

Police believe he used his credit card at Wal-Mart in Big Rapids and at the BP Gas Station.

He was driving a burgundy 1992 Buick Station Wagon, with wood grain side panels.

A U.S. Coast Guard helicopter has been searching the area, but no evidence of his whereabouts were found, until now.

Mr. Newville apparently flagged down a passing snowmobile for help earlier this evening in Northern Newago County.

The snowmobiler contacted 9-11, and Deputies and a Rescue team was sent.

Mr. Newville was transported by ambulance to Reed City Hospital, but he is expected to be alright.
