Man Accidentally Shot Off Finger While Hunting in Oceana County

Investigators say a man accidentally shot off his index finger during a hunting incident.

It happened in Oceana County over the weekend.

Officials say the man was unloading his 50-caliber muzzle loader while hunting on private property in Ferry Township.

That's when he unintentionally discharged the weapon.

Authorities say the man's left hand was near the muzzle and his left index finger was shot off.

He was treated at a local hospital, but also ticketed for not having a valid hunting license.
