52-Year-Old Downstate Man Killed In Snowmobile Accident

A 52-year-old downstate man died in a snowmobile accident that happened Saturday, in Kalkaska County.

Sheriff David Israel says the accident happened shortly after 2 PM, on property owned by Camp Graying, in Bear Lake Township.

He says Michael D. Moran of Livonia, was climbing a hill at a high rate of speed.

The machine crested the hill and then struck a tree.

Medical personnel pronounced Mr. Moran dead at the scene.

The accident is still under investigation.
