UPDATE: Police Plan to Release More Details on Baby Payton's Death at a Press Conference Tonight

A Missaukee county woman is now charged with the death of her 14 month old son.

Brittani Grabon of McBain is accused of murdering Payton Disbrow.  The boy was brought to Mercy hospital in Cadillac back on December 18th.  He was already dead when he arrived.  All along police had considered his death as suspicious.

A medical examiner just ruled that the boy's death was a homicide.

Grabon is charged with several crimes including murder and child abuse.  She is being held in the Missaukee county jail on one million dollars bond.


Breaking news into the 9&10 newsroom now involving the death of a baby from Missaukee county.

Police are about to hold a press conference linked to the death of 14 month old Payton Disbrow in Falmouth.

The baby passed away a few days before Christmas last year.

Deputies called the death suspicious, but have not released any new information until today.

A toddler taken to the hospital, but deputies say he was already dead. Now, deputies are calling the death of 14 month-old Payton Disbrow, suspicious.

The Missaukee County Sheriff tells 9 and 10 News he's investigating the circumstances around the toddler's death, but so far, can't say how he died before being taken to the Cadillac hospital yesterday.
