Antrim County Family Devastated After Fire Rips Through Their Home

Posted: Updated:

A family devastated after a fire tore through their rental home, leaving them with nothing.

The family of five made it out safely, after flames started racing through their home this afternoon.

It happened on Francis Road in Star Township, within Antrim County.

While the family is thankful to have gotten out safely, they are feeling the loss.

The fire destroyed their home and everything inside.

One of the family members we spoke with says they lost everything, including two of their three cars and their Christmas presents.

Now, their friends are trying to help them pick up the pieces.

"Right now, they're not sure where to go.  They're not sure what to do.  They don't have anything.  They are going to get into their vehicle and they're going to realize then they don't know what to do now...I feel terrible," says their friend, Adam Finnery.

The owner of the home lives out of state and was told about the fire, tonight.

As for the family, they are not sure what sparked the fire--that's something investigators are looking into.
