Road Commissions Prepare for Worst of Mother Nature

Most counties caught a break last year with the light snowfall and this winter they are cashing in.

This is actually less salt and sand then the Grand Traverse County Road Commission usually buys for a winter.

They were able to rollover the unused materials from last year and stockpile for this winter.

The commission is expecting a typical winter this year but if winter hits harder than budgeted, the summer projects actually suffers.
