UPDATE: Recall Petitions Created for Outdoor Fireplace Controversy

Posted: Updated:

We now have an update on the outdoor fireplace controversy in Charlevoix County.

An election commission approved the language for recall petitions today, against 3 of the Charlevoix City Council members.

According to the Charlevoix County Clerk, the petitions claim the city council had a meeting in August concerning the fireplace that violated the Open Meetings Act.

The people circulating the petitions want to recall Dennis Kusina, Bryan Vollmer and Jill Picha.

The City Manager tells 9&10 News the city still has not made any decisions related to where the fireplace will end up.
